Take the dead air out of it
Drop a recording. Cut finds every pause, every silence, every three seconds of you finding your notes — and gives you back the version without them.
The video is read inside this tab. It is never uploaded, because there is no server to upload it to — which is also why a 400MB file costs nothing and takes no queue.

Re-encoded here, on your machine, which means it plays through in real time — a four-minute result takes about four minutes. You can leave the tab open and do something else. Output is an .mp4 that opens in QuickTime, Photos, CapCut or Premiere with no conversion.
Timecodes for Premiere, Resolve or CapCut, if you'd rather cut there. Instant, no re-encode.
Working…
What it actually does
Reads the sound, not the picture
Silence is a level, not a mystery. Cut measures the loudness of every 20 milliseconds of your audio, works out what this recording's own quiet sounds like, and marks everything below that line.
Leaves the breaths in
Cutting on the exact frame the level drops is what makes edited speech sound wrong. Cut keeps a fraction of a second at both ends of every join, and never touches the short pause between two words.
Never sends your footage anywhere
There is no upload, no queue, no account, and no server that could keep a copy. That is also why it is free and why the file size doesn't matter — it never moves.
Captions and auto-clips are next, on the same page and the same principle: the work happens on your machine.
